Watt Whisky Ben & Sherry 6 year old

A young bold Blended Whisky from the Watt Whisky Independent bottlers, Mark and Kate.  This whisky carefully blends in equal quantities a 6yr old Benrinnes Single Malt and a 6yr Glasgow Distillery Single Malt (Both of which have been matured in Sherry Casks for 6yrs)

Nose:  An intense fragrance, which is almost floral from the sherry casks influence.  Reminiscent of struck matches or burnt toast.  Then there is the smells of dark chocolate and dried fruits.

Palate:  Hints of black pepper and tobacco leaves and even liquorice.  There is also the taste of dried fruits like currants and sultanas.  The whisky feels thick and oily in the mouth.

Finish:  The finish lingers long, sherry oak coming through, with a touch of smoke.

This is really fun whisky, with an intense sherry character and lots of big bold oaky flavour.  It is a robust complex experience.  If you like your whisky, sherry dominated then this is a very high quality young blend.
