This Staoisha, distilled at Bunnahabhain distillery, was part of a parcel of casks that Claxton's bought, all distilled in 2018. So far, they have bottled a 4-year-old, a 5-year-old, and now this 7-year-old. This particular cask has been finished in a fresh oloroso barrique. Expect plenty of rich BBQ smoke, lots of earthy flavours and a meaty and smoky finish.
Nose: Rich BBQ smoke. Smoked peppers, with brine and raisins.
Palate: Sweet smoke – dry and earthy. Oak and BBQ flavours.
Finish: Long, dry finish with plenty of meaty-smoke in the finish.
